Cast Metals Operation
Many aspects of daily living have dramatically changed since 1900. Fashion, technology, sports, social attitudes, and political ideals, to name a few, have all experienced significant transformation. Yet some fixtures from that time period still remain the same. The Zurn Cast Metals Operation, on the corner of 12th and Raspberry Streets in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA, was busy in 1900 producing low cost, high quality castings for customers all across the country. Today we proudly preserve and maintain our original mission as we continue to produce castings for customers across the globe.

Consistent with our heritage, we believe that we know cast iron better than anyone does. In keeping with our vision, we eagerly embrace authentic change. We cultivate relationships with customers in such a fashion that our association may more aptly be described as "partnerships." We are committed to innovation and flexibility. We understand the dynamics involved with keeping our customers satisfied, and the message of a relentless pursuit of improvement deeply resonates within each of us at the Cast Metals Operation.

We strive for excellence in every aspect of our manufacturing processes, and consider ourselves "pace-setters", as opposed to followers. As viewed by our customers, we are responsive, creative, zealous with respect to quality, and champions in relation to cost.

We are a high-volume operation, employing Disamatic and Hunter molding machine technology. We excel at throughput and customer service and have made a name for ourselves in this business by satisfying "emergency" rush job requirements. We take pride in our ability to make Purchasing Managers smile.

Our quality deserves mentioning, as well. Weekly quality training is required of all Zurn supervision, and in turn our supervisors hold meetings with our workforce. In addition, a special in-house "Quality Team", comprised of a cross functional group of workers and supervisors, regularly meets to discuss methods, processes, customers, and improvement techniques. Currently, Zurn supervision is undergoing "Six Sigma" training in order to better respond to our customer's changing needs.

We are fluid in response to all customer needs, whether its inventory levels, delivery schedules, quality concerns, or engineering questions. We realize our customers are our very reason for existing. The hallmark of Zurn - Cast Metals is "service and quality". Call us today to discuss how we can become your supplier of high quality, gray iron castings…you owe it to your business and we can help!
